The root of customer loyalty
Loyalty is plentiful today. However, customers don't remain loyal to a brand, they stay with the bargain.
Consumers sway to the tune of discounts instead of slow-waltzing with brands and providers they trust and who trust them.
But it's not their fault. It's our quest to Walmart-ize business that's distorted trust.
Selling more, faster and for less than the other guy only leads to price wars, never what's really important – loyal followers, supporters, shoppers, and liaisons.
While McDonald's doesn't know my name, Debbie, a local entrepreneur, does. She is interested in me, not my money.
Sure, she doesn't have to serve food with a side of warm conservation, but I'll be back tomorrow because she does.
